Your Consultation with Dr. Day

ArtefillCongratulations on deciding to come to Day Medical Salon for an Artefill consultation. After reviewing your medical history with Dr. Day he will listen to all of your concerns regarding your cosmetic enhancement "wish list" Perhaps it is nasolabial fold correction you want or enhanced lip lines and volume, Artefill has many creative uses and Dr. Day is well trained in this unique filler.

Artefill Preparation

Because Artefill is made from bovine collagen, an allergy test is necessary one month before the planned treatment. Providing your allergy test is negative, Dr. Day will proceed with the injectable for your desired correction. The area is properly cleaned using strict surgical sterile techniques. Tell Dr. Day if you are nervous and he can provide an oral sedative if you so desire. It is natural to be nervous for any cosmetic treatment and Dr. Day understands that. His caring and knowledgable staff can also answer any last minute questions.

Does Artefill Injection Hurt?

Artefill is also a wonderful choice because is comes premixed with local anesthetic for your comfort. Once you see the instant gratification of the Artefill at work, you will be amazed.

Where is Artefill Placed?

Artefill increases the volume under the skin in areas where the volume has been depleted by lack of collagen. This translates to any area on the face that has concavities like the corners of the mouth, the nasolabial area, and any acne or scar depression.

Is Artefill for you?

Artefill is for people that know what they want in a filler. they are the type of person that already have experienced what the traditional filler can do and like the resulst but do not like paying every year. since Artefill is classified as a permanent filler, it is not for someone that has never experienced a filler before. iI is best to see how you like fillers before you have Artefill. Artefill works best in areas that have much movement like nasolabial folds but should be avoided in thinner areas such as areas of the face with fine wrinkles.

Who is Not a Candidate for Artefill?

Of course every patient is different and that is why you need a consultation with Dr. Day to decide if Artefill is right for you. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding , Artefill should be delayed. If you are taking aspirin, ibuprofen or other non-steroidal anti inflammatory medication or coumadin or warfarin, tell Dr. Day. If you have an outbreak of acne, a rash or any other skin pathology your treatment may need to be postponed until your skin clears up. All these topics should be discussed with Dr. Day at the time of the consultation. Be honest with Dr. Day, he wants to do what is right or you.

Risks with Artefill Use

As with any injectable there can be redness at the site of injection, itching, bruising, swelling, pain and lumpiness at the injection site. Usually these clinical manifestations resolve over time. Tell Dr. Day if you experience andy of these symptoms.
