platelet rich proteinRegenerative Medicine

The latest in anti-ageing FACIAL and BODY REJUVENATION WITH YOUR OWN BLOOD CELLS using PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP). Day Medical Salon is proud to be one of the first clinics in Portland Oregon chosen to launch PRP. Dr. Day is extensively trained in the administration of Platelet Rich Protein.

Why should we have Regenerative Medicine known as PRP?

Aging of the skin means that the skin texture and appearance deteriorate. Aging affects the hands, soft tissue of the face and body. This is characterized by sagging, thinning of the skin, puffiness, age spots and wrinkling (forehead, cheeks, neck and décolleté). Tissue on the arms becomes thin and empty.

How Do Platelet Rich Proteins Work?

The Platelet rich proteins (PRP) release seven growth-factors (GF) that promote tissue healing and regeneration. The PRP contains seven times the amount of platelets that are normally found in clotting blood. This high concentration is significant because the platelets have growth factors which are proteins that promote the growth and healing of the tissue. This is important as well because the PRP stimulate immature and mature adult cells to replicate.

How Does PRP Work to Rejuvenate the Skin?

Dr. Day will apply the PRP in the area under your skin so that he can plump your skin and reduce wrinkles. Your own PRP then works at a cellular level to stimulate collagen.

What are the results from PRP?

  • Tissue regeneration and rejuvenation
  • Increasing long-term collagen production
  • Improvement in the skin complection, texture and tone usually within 3 weeks.
  • Subtle improvements can progressively continue for up to a year.
