Laser Vein Removal
Regain your legs’ sexy and youthful appearance with laser vein removal.
Let’s face it: no matter how sexy your legs may be the presence of spider or varicose veins on their surface dramatically affects their appearance. Many women develop spider veins during pregnancy, while others are caused by hormone therapy, from injury or even simple, repetitive leg crossing. Whatever the cause, the result is an unsightly area of red vessels.
Surgical treatments for varicose veins have been used for many years. Internal lasers, radio waves, and support stockings have also been tried with varying degrees of success. The drawbacks to all of these older treatments include scarring, recovery time, high cost and poor results.
Now, Lyra laser technology provides relatively rapid results by eliminating damaged vessels.
Vein Removal: Commonly Asked Questions
How does laser work?
A high energy beam penetrates through the skin and gets absorbed in blood cells inside the leg veins. Once absorbed, the energy turns into heat, which evaporates blood and heats up vessel walls. Heated vessel walls collapse and the bloodless vessels dissipate in the body within a few weeks.
How many treatments will it take?
It usually takes 2 to 3 treatments that are 6 weeks apart to seal the vessels. The number of treatments needed may vary slightly based on severity.
What should I expect during the procedure?
A topical anesthetic may be applied before the treatment, depending on the area, vessel severity and sensitivity of the patient. The laser will be transmitted through a cold window to protect the skin and assure further comfort. The laser beam will trace the leg vein driving blood away. This trace will turn pink and will gradually disappear.
Does it hurt?
The sensation is similar to hot needle pricks and will only continue during lasing. As soon as the laser is off, the sensation will disappear. Any discomfort can be easily reduced.
How long will the procedure last?
Based on the area of treatment, it takes anywhere between 15 and 30 minutes of lasing time to complete a procedure.
How long will recovery take?
Return to your normal daily routine – and don’t forget the sunscreen! Reddening will dissipate within a few days. Aloe Vera or another moisturizer can be applied. Additionally, pressure stockings may be worn to keep the veins sealed.
Are the results permanent?
The damaged vessels will not come back. However, based on the individual, new leg veins may form.
