Introducing the Silhouette Threadlift™
The advanced Silhouette Threadlift is a minimally invasive, non-surgical approach to a refreshed new you. The procedure is a safe, minimally invasive face-lift alternative. The procedure does not require general anesthesia and is relatively painless though a localized anesthetic.
As we age, the tissue in our skin becomes weakened. We lose facial fat and the underlying support structure of our skin becomes lax and begins to sag. The common areas we see this looseness of the skin are in the mid and lower face, brows, jowls and neck.
The Silhouette Threadlift lifts the underlying tissue to give the skin a fuller and higher appearance. The Silhouette threads also stimulate collagen production around them.
Silhouette threads were developed by plastic surgeon Nicanor Isse, M.D., and are FDA approved for cosmetic use. The Silhouette uses absorbable cones to anchor threads higher in the face. The tissue grows in and around the cones as they absorb to allow for a longer-lasting lift.
The Silhouette Threadlift provides subtle, natural-looking improvements to help:
· Lift drooping soft tissues of the mid and lower face
· Reposition sagging cheeks and jowls
· Smooth out premature skin
· Lift sagging eyebrows
The Silhoutte Threadlift: Commonly Asked Questions
What are Silhoutte Threads?
Silhouette sutures represent the latest, FDA-approved solution for non-invasive lifting of soft tissues in the face. They are made from a polypropylene substrate and lack the “barbs” of previously-available sutures, which had the potential of weakening the strength of the thread. The hollow cones in Silhouette threads provide better anchorage for longer-lasting tissue suspension. They are further strengthened as they are absorbed and tissue grows around them.
How are they applied?
Silhouette threads are carefully inserted into the subcutaneous layer of the skin using a small needle. This is a non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure with only minor discomfort with use of local anesthesia and, for some patients, a mild sedative.
How long is the recovery time?
Bruising and swelling tends to be minimal and most patients can return normal activities within a few days to one week.
What are the potential side effects?
First off, Threadlift procedures are reversible, so it is possible to remove the threads if the results are undesirable. Complications are very rare with the Threadlift and minor complications, such as a pucker at the entrance of the thread, can be easily treated with a quick office visit.
Can I still try other cosmetic medical procedures following a Silhouette lift?
Yes, after sufficient recovery time, the Threadlift can be followed up with filler and laser treatments, as desired.
