How Does Laser Work?
The laser vaporizes thin layers of the skin by targeting water molecules. The skin’s texture and pigmentation are improved, the skin is tightened and collagen production is stimulated to return the skin to a more youthful appearance.

Can I use laser on all areas of my face?
Although many patients choose to treat the entire face, some target problem areas such as under-eye wrinkles or lip creases. Resurfacing is tailored to the individual patient’s preference.

Is there significant recovery time involved?
Deeper treatments utilizing Erbium laser to target more advanced creases, acne or scarring, will require slightly more healing time. More superficial creases and sun spots may be targeted with a lighter resurfacing, thus requiring less down time.

Isn’t laser painful? Doesn’t it cause redness and swelling?
Lasers today use a cooler light than those of yesteryear. Redness and swelling are held to a minimum and recovery time is short.

How long is recovery time?
In most cases, patients are fully recovered and back to normal activities within 1-4 days. Following the procedure, the treated areas are kept moist with ointment and/or occlusive dressings for the first few days. Over the next few weeks, your fresh, new, pink skin will fade to a normal tone revealing a softer, smoother, younger look.
