Introducing the Anchor Threadlift™
The Advanced Anchor Threadlift™ represents a new era in minimally invasive rejuvenation techniques. Anchor Threads are a safe, conservative and effective solution that produces subtle, natural looking results.
The unique design of the delicate filaments used in the procedure virtually eliminates scarring. Once the threads are positioned, your body generates new collagen to maintain the lifting effect. The body then absorbs the threads. The result is a fresh rejuvenated and natural look without the telltale signs of major surgery.
The Advanced Anchor Threadlift: Commonly Asked Questions
What are Anchor Threads?
Anchor Threads are clear, absorbable strands of polypropylene. They anchor beneath the skin and are absorbed in several years after collagen is produced around the thread.
Who is the best candidate?
The best candidates for this procedure are men and women usually between the ages of 30 to 60 years old who desire improved facial contour, as well as those who have already had a traditional facelift, but are looking for further improvement.
How long do the procedures take?
The actual length of time depends upon the number of threads used. A full-face procedure usually takes about forty-five to sixty minutes to perform.
How long is the recovery time following thread treatments?
Most recoveries last approximately 1 week. Some patients are able to return to normal activities a few days after the Anchor Threadlift.
Is anesthesia required?
Local anesthesia is adequate in most cases. Some patients prefer to receive a mild sedative to help them relax during the procedure.
What are the side effects?
Some discomfort, swelling and bruising may occur, but these side effects disappear quickly. Polypropylene threads elicit a minimal reaction in tissue. They have been used in other surgical applications for many years without any side effects.
Do these procedures replace a surgical facelift?
The results of these procedures are not as dramatic as a surgical facelift. However, they provide positive results for patients who don’t want or require major surgery, and may rival the results of a conventional mid-facelift in patients who do not have a lot of sagging.
How many treatments will I need?
Usually only one procedure is needed to achieve the desired lifting or contouring effect. However, more threads can be added over time to defy the continuous aging process, if desired.
How long do the results last?
Over time, the body generates new collagen around the Anchor Threads, which helps maintain the lift. Duration varies depending on the age of the patient at the time of the procedure, the degree of sagging, and the number of threads used. Dr. Day reevaluates his patients in 3 to 5 years.
